Ku-ring-gai State Emergency Service

Ring 132 500 for assistance.

Part of Sydney Northern Region, Ku-ring-gai SES Head Quarters is located at 1 Carlotta Ave Gordon 2072.

The State Emergency Service is a volunteer organisation that assists the public in storms and floods. They also assist other agencies in incident management, bush fires and search and recovery.

Members are trained in general rescue techniques, casualty retrieval and first aid, chain saw operation, land and water search for people and evidence, storm damage mitigation, navigation, flood boat operation, off road driving, traffic control and communication.

Example of service:
In the event of damage to a house the SES will provide temporary repairs and access. This would include removal of a tree from a roof and covering the damage with a tarpaulin. The SES would not remove debris or make permanent repairs as these are the professions of other people in the community with more specialised skills and equipment and businesses to operate.
